For three TV competition “rejects” they formed to become the perfect alternative rock band for the Goodieboy family.
When drummer LiT heard of a TV show creating a music band he auditioned and made it to the audition phase. But when he told his parents he wanted to leave college to pursue his love of music they were adamant he get his college education. So much so they gave him an ultimatum, stay and school and keep their financial help or drop out and they remove their financial help. Ready to toss in all his chips and live with the consequences, he left for the audition.
Around this same time Roxxy, living across the pond in the UK, was already making a name for herself as an performer. Already an excellent pianist, she also took after her accomplished dad who played in a popular band in the 70’s and learned drums and bass guitar.
She was called a one woman band by magazines but she could never step out of her dads enormous shadow. When she heard of the competition in the states she auditioned and quickly made the audition phase. She told her parents chosen or not this move would be long term as she try to find not only her place in music, but who she was as well.
Lead guitarist and singer Brayden was the ultimate underachiever. Things just came easy for him no matter if it was sports, music, academics or competitions. His parents were told as a kid he was a kid genius and needed mental challenges so they recommended him skipping two grades as his test results were off the charts. When his family refused, wanting him to stay with his friends, he would get into lots of trouble out of boredom yet get an “A’s” on a tests with little to no studying.
He was the best player on both the basketball and football team and even won a position as outfielder off a dare in baseball but flaked on the team. This up and down behavior led to lots of torn relationships and out of control moments. His one passion though was always alternative rock but no one took him seriously thinking a black kid from Brooklyn should stick to rap or hip hop, not lead a alternative rock band.
So feeling challenged, he slowly became a top line guitar player, fronting such bands as NoCakeWalk and Pryz and breaking stereotypes along the way. On a dare by a friend he auditioned solo for the reality TV band competition and won a spot. His band furious kicked him out the band leaving him to all for broke.
The contestants were given two living quarters and these three were randomly chosen to be in the same house. Roxxy couldn’t stand Brayden’s cocky attitude while LiT and Brayden formed a solid friendship. So much the show focused on their “bromance”. As auditions progressed LiT was sent home 3 weeks into the competition, the judges sent Brayden’s home 3 weeks later with one judge saying he has SUPERSTAR talent, horrible personality. Roxxy made it to the finals but lost her spot when she uncharacteristically froze during a performance which led to vicious memes and hurtful videos.
LiT and Brayden stuck around until the end of the competition and invited Roxxy out for drinks. During the course of the night they all realized how much they felt like pawns while on that show. A certain stranger at the bar overheard their plan of forming a band and asked them to perform for his label at one of his remote studios within 2 hours. They told him they weren’t a band yet but he insisted saying he flew out of town in 3 hours. They agreed, played and sung for this mysterious man who said he was in the music industry.
This man identified himself as MD, founder of Goodieboyz & Goodieboy Music. He had seen enough in person and wanted to offer them a contract to first serve as studio musicians and then their own material as well. He acknowledged they would all need additional time but he believed in them even if everyone rejected them and so they took on the name Everyday Rejects.
They are the only production team on the virtual roster that was ever handpicked by the founder.
