oding

Versatile and talented singer/ songwriter/ producer Oding from the Philippines has signed a 2-year artist management deal with Goodieboy.

Oding, a session singer for many upcoming songs for Goodieboy, is ramping up his solo career showcasing his amazing vocal range and pure vocals that has stirred fans to emotions. Oding comes from a long line of family singers and musicians and inspired by artists such as Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Elton John, Justin Bieber, and Daniel Ceasar.

Founder Michael Dante, “Oding is a once in a lifetime talent we’re excited about assisting in his music journey. He has a voice like Bruno Mars but in other songs reminds me of a young Michael Jackson that is rare and hard to pull off, I’ve never worked with a singer with his pure voice before. But even more, I don’t run into too many singers with his voice with his awesome personality. Oding is a incredible singer and even better human being we are glad has joined Goodieboy. He’ll definitely make the people of Philippines proud, and soon the world will know his name and gift.”

Oding’s singles “Never Fade” and “Slow it Down” are just a taste of this brilliant artists vocal range and songwriting. Click HERE to learn more about Oding and stream his latest singles. Also, be on the lookout for his cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” coming out in February.

Frank Watkinson’s cover of the song “I will follow you into the dark” was featured on SEASON 2 of the Apple TV series “Home Before Dark” episode 7. It fit the scene perfectly and another reason why indie songwriters are underrated.

We’re so proud and happy for Frank, he’s a incredible long time singer songwriter with a growing following on YouTube and a even better person. We’re excited to work with him on many more placements in the future!

2020 indie artists of the year, frank watkinson, goodieboy music

Frank Watkinson is our 2020 Goodieboy Music Indie Artist of the Year. Frank has an amazing way of having his listeners experience his songs with his warmth and emotional singing and playing. His lyrics and vocals are reminiscent of past times like Johnny Cash where music REALLY touched your soul, you can feel the sadness or warmth in his voice.

Q: When did you start singing and playing the guitar, and was there a life event or artist that started that?
A: I can always remember somebody having a guitar but i really started to learn at about 16, from books and watching peoples fingers ,there was no you tube then.

Q: Who were your inspirations growing up?
A: Anyone acoustic, Ralph McTell, Paul Simon, James Taylor, CSNY, I could go on forever .

Q: Have you always played solo or were you in any bands?
A: I have never really ever played with anyone else, in fact I have never played in public at all, I’m not that confident and I admire anyone who does,

Q: What is the biggest obstacle in your music career so far?
A: I would say that I was my biggest obstacle as I don’t really think of it as a career .

Q: Which song you have written is your favorites and why?
A: I think it has to be the one about my pup called Buster, basically because it was a really bad time for us and the song just came out of nowhere, listening to the words it doesn’t mention dog anywhere so could be about anyone.

Q: When you’re not singing what do you like to do?
A: I walk the dog I do housework I look after grandkids, nothing really exciting I’m just a granddad.

Q: Favorite genre of music?
A: There was time when i would only listen to contemporary folk ,but as you get older you appreciate all genres, I have always said if it’s a good song it’s a good song no matter what genre , you need an open mind in music.

Q: What cover of an artist is your favorite?
A: It has to be my cover of when you were made by the Growlers, probably because they posted it on their own band page and gave me really good comments.

Q: How does it feel when you see comments on YouTube expressing how much your songs have touched someone?
A: It’s heartwarming and humbling at the same time, it’s always good to think you have achieved a reaction to your music.

Q: What are your future plans with your career?
A: I rarely make plans my age it’s a bit of take every day as it comes for me now.

Q: What advice would you give other independent artists who love to make music or might be looking to also develop a loyal audience on YouTube like you?
A: I don’t really think I’m qualified to give advice as i have no idea how i got the followers i have, I think whatever you are doing try to be honest and open, do what you are good at and don’t change just to please others ,i think most people can sense it if your hearts not in it.

SumBoyRay releases Stereotype Rap “Sorry”

November 5, 2020 by michaeldante

new release, sorry, stereotype rap, sumboyray

Rap group SumBoyRay released their second single “Sorry” on 11/6/2020 along with a unique music video to match the one of a kind rap release.

This part cypher/ part short stories rap is two stories about four random strangers and the thin line between stereotypes and racism. This unique take has rappers from China, Spain and the USA making this a one of a kind cypher dealing with real talk.

Member Sum of All said, “this track is actually a prequel to our first single “RISE WITH ME”. It shows that stereotypes often lead to racism, hate and division. We made some light of a controversial topic but we also wanted to mix that in with real talk where people can think to themselves, do I do that? Do I prejudge someone without thinking about it? The thing is, many of us, including myself, have done it mentally at some point in our lives to some extent… what we do after defines who we are afterwards.”

You can see the music video and buy the single on SumBoyRay’s artist page.

Goodieboyz Music teams up with Frank Watkinson on unplugged acoustic EP

You may not have heard of Frank Watkinson but he has a small but loyal following on his YouTube pages. Frank, from England, is known for his emotional and moving original songs and stripped down covers.

Members at Goodieboyz have been fans of Franks for while and even had Frank’s “Wonderful World” video included in a documentary and decided it wanted to showcase his talent to the masses.

Goodieboy founder Michael Dante, “Frank reminds me of how music use to sound and still can. In an age of technology, music is still the one thing that technology cannot improve at its core. Sure, you can put in effects or make songs more digital but if the heart of the song is missing… the words, the emotion if those elements aren’t there then its just empty words. Frank makes songs feel like you’re sitting next to him during breakups, experiencing love or just living life. I feel this world needs more Franks in the music world.”

Goodieboyz Music finalized an agreement with singer-guitarist Frank Watkinson on a 7-song unplugged EP release featuring some of his best original songs. This release include 3 music videos, the first being “Before”.

rise with me

Only a month old and our first single release “Rise with Me” continues to do well especially with the added powerful music video.

We’ve even gained many new fans on our social media accounts from overseas including Germany, Russia, UK and Italy which had us do an interview for Italian fans in that area.

We also have received lots of support worldwide on our powerful, some say controversial music video including comments from fans in the Middle East. You can read our various reviews clicking here and a reaction video here.
